Right on the riverbank, near the railway station, city hall, a shopping centre and the historic town centre, a new quarter is under development whose typical local mix of uses will combine residential, commercial, hotel, office accommodation with cafés, restaurants and retailers to ensure a high-quality living and working environment.

In urban-planning terms, the new quarter simultaneously closes a major gap in Spandau’s promenade along the River Havel to re-connect the historic town centre with the green riverbank and thereby to enhance urban life in the heart of the borough by adding a waterfront site.

Analogously, the building façades pick up on the urban context and directly reference the borough of Spandau, its historic core and the Citadel: colours, materials and the variation of depths and ledges are reinterpreted in modern ways in the SPANDAUER UFER buildings.

FROM THE “GREEN LOUNGE” ON THE QUARTER’S SQUARE TO THE RIVERSIDE BALCONY AND ALL THE WAY TO THE PROMENADE, you will find intense greening with plenty of trees and shrubs everywhere on the grounds of SPANDAUER UFER.

 

The site is being turned into an urban sanctuary for relaxing, working out and just taking it easy.

A number of playing and leisure options, including a climbing wall, will make the quarter a new riverside hot spot for getting together.
